Fall is here and not only do the choices we make in clothing change, but also how we take care of our skin and the makeup colors we choose.
Fluctuating temperatures inside and out of the home and workplace play havoc with our completions. With cooling temperatures, you may not feel thirsty but the need to stay hydrated does not decrease. Cool dry temperatures outside and unnatural dry heat inside draws the moisture out of our skin. Sleep, diet, and exercise also play an important roll. All three keep our immune systems in top shape and help keep our skin clean and glowing.
You may have to change your skin care routine slightly; particularly less exfoliation paired with a richer moisturizer and a special eye cream for that delicate, over-worked skin.
Those of you with oily skin should not neglect moisturizer. Your skin can be dehydrated and still oily. Overwashing and exfoliation will put the oil glands into overdrive and make the problem worse. Gentle soap and an oil-free moisturizer are a must. DHC, a line from Japan, can be purchased via mail order, and has some of the best products for all skin types.
A must for fall and winter to combat skin dullness is a good AHA (alpha hydroxy acid) and sun screen. Women with dry and sensitive skin should only use AHAâ??s once a week while those with oily skin can use it every other day. Sun screen should be applied daily whether sunny or cloudy.
Fall is a time to remember what makeup is all about! Rich colors, vibrant shades, smooth neutrals.
Eyes for fall include sparkly beiges, glorious greens, seductive violets, or crisp blues. For those daring who like a smokey eye, dark grey or navy will do the trick.
Jade or teal eye liner with a natural eye brings an added pop to the look. Lips go from pale champagne to burgundies and reds.
Fall is also the time to do some makeup house cleaning. As the summer tan fades, mone must invest in a new shade of foundation. Throw out old mascara (over three months old). Anything broken or discolored also needs to be discarded.
Makeup brushes should be washed with gentle soap, rinsed thoroughly, and air dried. Lipstick, gloss, or chapstick is a must to protect the delicate lips from breezy cold weather.
